What a ghoulish event! Harrington Events had the ghastly pleasure of designing and providing entertainment services for a Halloween party this Saturday past. In collaboration with MAX Ultimate Food, seven performers terrorized the guests with their haunting antics and the guests loved it!

It all transpired in a house which eerily resembled that of the Addams Family. As the guest arrived they were coerced into the grave yard by a freak, eight feet tall with no head. They would soon realize the grave yard was infested with the living dead. Here we staged three hideous looking ghouls posed to terrorize. If they made it into the house they were happy to find a more civilized atmosphere. A maestro, dead for hundreds of years, played on a grand piano the dark minor sounds of Bach, Greig, Chopin and of course The Funeral March of Marionette. Read More

Last January on a cold winter night, I received a call from a groom looking for help. Scott, needed a gal to help his fiance and her mom search the northeast coast for a wedding venue. That gal, turned out to be me of course! Halie, the bride, and Cheryl, her lovely mom, arrived from Fort Worth Texas on a Wednesday and had only two days to see all that the north shore had to offer.

We embarked on our adventure on two of the coldest days ever and though we had to wear our winter gear through the tour, The York Harbor Reading Room in York Harbor ME. warmed Halie and her mom from the inside out. (what can I say I am a mush!)

The  wedding date was July 24th 2010.  A perfect New England summer day.  Most important to Halie and Scott was that their guests enjoy their time.  Their planning choices reflected this.  The escort cards were dangled from a bottle of Geary’s beer. A perfect choice for a hot day in coastal Maine. The band, the Prenups were A typical and rocked the party! Guests were encouraged to take silly photos with props in the photo booth designed by Halie’s sister K8 Hardy.

What a charming afternoon. The weather was magnificent. Chianti’s Chef Michael Sasso expedited our menu perfectly. Bloomings Florist’s floral design was charming and full of color. Cassis’s mini almond pear tart was scrumptious and The Cup Cake Cafe’s pear blossom cupcake was not only topped with a pretty pear blossom but also baked to cupcake perfection.

Harrington Event’s Staff along with Pear Blossom Committee members provided a perfect guest expedience. Oh and wait until you see the imagery captured by Spector Photography. Click more to read more. Read More

After Thailand I continued my Asian journey six hours north to Japan. I visited Tokyo and Kyoto. Japan is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. In fact everything was pretty. From the manholes in the street to the ikebana flower arrangements, it was as if Japan put on its Sunday best just for me.

    Gavin Loveless

Bethany and Rick hired Harrington Events to help put the fundamentals of their wedding together. All they needed was help with finding the perfect venue for their budget and a little help with photography. Our search took us from Newport RI to Conway NH. We looked at tented affairs on the ocean and quaint mountainside inns in the White Mountains. Finally Bethany and Rick decided on the Eagle Mountain Resort House in Jackson NH. This was a place that had meaning for the couple. Rick’s hobby for photographing waterfalls had brought him to the area many times. The wedding was lovely.

“Trash the Dress” is finished! Launched by Holly Harrington-Stern of Harrington Events, this short film is an exposition of style and fun centered around the trashing of Harrington-Stern’s own wedding dress!

Produced a year after Harrington-Stern’s own wedding, this 3-minute film is a beautifully stylized ‘Trash the Dress’ story. Using Harrington-Stern’s real wedding dress, and bridesmaids, the film follows the bridal party as Harrington-Stern’s veil blows off her head and lands inside a nearby Amusement Park. Once the ladies head into the Park, Harrington-Stern’s dress is systematically ‘trashed’ as she chases a little boy around in an effort to retrieve her veil.

“The dress will never be the same,” says Harrington-Stern, “but making this film was almost as much fun as my wedding. Having the chance to run wild in an amusement park, while looking as pretty as possible with my closest girlfriends was worth the demise of my wedding gown!” Over the course of the film, Harrington-Stern’s dress is squirted with water, has ketchup spilled on it by a clumsy bridesmaid, and is shortened when the bride steps on it, ripping off a portion of the skirt.

“Trash the Dress” truly fulfills Harrington-Stern’s vision of collaborating with Boston-area wedding vendors, and shows how much fun it can be to be a part of someone’s special day! And according to Harrington-Stern, this kind of film highlights that, given the right team, there is nothing that can’t be managed on your “Big Day!”

Seavey Boyle - Family Molly and Michael were planning their wedding from Kalamazoo Missouri. This would be a tented affair at the bride’s family residence in Andover Ma. This meant Harrington Events had the pleasure of working with Molly’s wonderful parents Elly and Whitney. They put as much planning into this event as any bride and when the event finally went up it was clearly the work of the whole family. The event was stunning.

Molly and Michael are veterinary scientists. They used this as inspiration for some of their design choices. Their tables were named after the famous scientists who have inspired their careers. They used Erlenmeyer flasks as centerpiece containers and the tables bloomed with orchids that cascaded out of the flasks. They décor was simple and lovely.

    Seavey Boyle - Flip Side

One of the big highlights of the evening was the performance of the band Flipside from Murray Hill Talent. They fired up the event with soulful dinner music and continued into the evening with two jamin dance music sets that kept the dance floor hot all night long. The guests had a blast and so did the whole family!
