No CommentsJennifer and Matthew fell in love in Mexico: with each other and its culture. So when it came to making design choices for their wedding, they couldn’t resist making their wedding a fiesta to remember. Located at Silver Lake Conference Center and retreat, Harrington Events was tasked with transforming the summer camp facilities into a formal wedding venue. With their work cut out for them, the team rolled up their sleeves and created an event space fit for a formal affair. -

A Swinging Love Affair
Posted in: Uncategorized
Kellian and Brian wanted an event that stood the test of time! They are both swing dance instructors, with a passion for the 1940’s. It was only fitting that their wedding showcase their love for each other and the era. Thanks to the timeless elegance of the Peabody Essex Museum the event was a swinging success!

Jennifer’s shower was a blast to plan! Held at Chianti Tuscan Restaurant and Jazz Lounge. Her bridal party wanted to create an event that coupled three of Jennifer’s favorite things; world cultures, hors d’oeuvres and girl time! By electing a Mediterranean theme we were able to create a menu that included tapas style foods. Served on a low Moroccan style table, the food station became the focal point of the decor and encouraged the guests to lounge and enjoy!

A Family Affair
Posted in: Uncategorized
Asher’s naming brought together families of Christian and Jewish traditions. It was only fitting that the menu be filled with home-style family recipes from both heritages. Bagels and lox, tuna salad and pastrami mingled with devil dogs, pasta salad and sour cream and onion dip, mmmmmmmm! The guest were reminded of their own childhood while celebrating the life of the new addition Asher Maurice “Pincheas” Stern.

Halloween Eve
Posted in: Uncategorized
What a ghoulish event! Harrington Events had the ghastly pleasure of designing and providing entertainment services for a Halloween party this Saturday past. In collaboration with MAX Ultimate Food, seven performers terrorized the guests with their haunting antics and the guests loved it!It all transpired in a house which eerily resembled that of the Addams Family. As the guest arrived they were coerced into the grave yard by a freak, eight feet tall with no head. They would soon realize the grave yard was infested with the living dead. Here we staged three hideous looking ghouls posed to terrorize. If they made it into the house they were happy to find a more civilized atmosphere. A maestro, dead for hundreds of years, played on a grand piano the dark minor sounds of Bach, Greig, Chopin and of course The Funeral March of Marionette. Read More

Last January on a cold winter night, I received a call from a groom looking for help. Scott, needed a gal to help his fiance and her mom search the northeast coast for a wedding venue. That gal, turned out to be me of course! Halie, the bride, and Cheryl, her lovely mom, arrived from Fort Worth Texas on a Wednesday and had only two days to see all that the north shore had to offer.
We embarked on our adventure on two of the coldest days ever and though we had to wear our winter gear through the tour, The York Harbor Reading Room in York Harbor ME. warmed Halie and her mom from the inside out. (what can I say I am a mush!)
The wedding date was July 24th 2010. A perfect New England summer day. Most important to Halie and Scott was that their guests enjoy their time. Their planning choices reflected this. The escort cards were dangled from a bottle of Geary’s beer. A perfect choice for a hot day in coastal Maine. The band, the Prenups were A typical and rocked the party! Guests were encouraged to take silly photos with props in the photo booth designed by Halie’s sister K8 Hardy.
